Valencia
in €80s-€90s rtn
Well, here's one way to get your five a day...
As the clock strikes 12 on the last Wednesday in August, the sleepy Spanish town of Buñol transforms into a tomato pelting battleground.
For one whole hour, it's pure puréed carnage, as you duck and dive your way through the slippery street launching tomato ammo at your fellow opponents.
All to the backdrop of a few extra brave individuals attempting to clamber up a two-story-high, greased up pole to snatch a prized ham...because, why not?
Currently, you can still buy tickets for €50 that include your entry and return transport to Valencia, but we’d advise booking ASAP since there's only a limited number available.
Travel note: Although Valencia has not fully recovered from the October floods, the city's official tourism board are enthusiastic to see visitors returning. You can find more information along with ways you can support the city here.
