The Amazon
in $300s-$500s RT
There's really two sides to the Amazon...
One is the dry season: minimal rain (by Amazonian standards) and lower rivers, which means more hiking trails and a better chance at spotting aquatic animals (like those pink dolphins!) This runs from about June to November.
Then there's the wet season: heavier rain and more river passages, which means boat access to rarer spots, and a better chance at spotting land animals (like those funky tamanduas!) This seasons happens in December to May.
There's really no wrong choice here — everyone online has a different take on which season is preferable. It really just depends whether you want to do!
And whichever you choose, make our writer Fran's article your first stop. It's packed with incredibly rare info about touring the Amazon on a budget.
