Texas in $180s-$210s RT

Texas summers may be sweltering, but they sure know how to do the 4th of July!

Fly into McAllen, and you're a quick drive away from South Padre Island. This family vacation hub lights up for the holidays with concerts, parades on the beach, and fireworks over the Gulf.

For a more outdoorsy, nature-driven holiday, go for Midland. Despite being three hours from Big Bend, it's actually the best way to reach this isolated, underrated National Park. If it's simply too hot to hike, you can always see the canyon from on the water instead.

And of course, if you'd rather take a city break, we've spotted some solid routes to Austin and Dallas too. It's always nice to catch a good non-stop with holiday weekend coverage. Especially since we've heard there's a pretty stellar fireworks show over at (the aptly named) Kaboom Town :-)
