Taipei might be an ultra-modern city, but it can still get a little wild...

If you find yourself needing a little nature break from the capital's urban jungle, head straight for the Four Beasts—that's Elephant Mountain, Tiger Mountain, Lion Mountain, and Leopard Mountain.

(9-5 Peak and Thumb Mountain are part of the same range, but "the Four Beasts Plus Two Other Non-Beast Mountains" isn't as cool a name.)

These peaks are connected by a single hiking trail and offer some pretty spectacular views of the city along the way. Your IG feed will thank you :-)

P.S. If you book your trip for October or November, you'll definitely want to head over to Yangmingshan National Park to check out the silvergrass.
