In the endless quest for quirky destinations, I present you today… the Kingdom in the Sky!

Wait wait wait, there's no actual flight to Maseru here, unfortunately, but if you look closely between this big bunch of destinations, you'll spot a South African rarity — Durban.

While the city itself isn’t super exciting on its own, Durban is the perfect jumping-off point to explore Lesotho.

What's fun about that, you might think — well, besides the fact that the country literally looks like Wakanda, you'll be able to access it through the legendary Sani Pass! The 9-kilometer Alpine pass is known for its steep switchbacks, lush waterfalls, and incredible scenery of the dramatic Drakensberg mountain range.

Now, while you might be tempted to rent your own 4x4 and DIY the trip, we'd recommend booking a day-trip with an experienced local driver and guide to avoid unnecessary driving-drama.
