Puerto Rico in $220s-$270s RT

I like to think of myself as the Hunter S. Thompson of JFC, for both my bold "gonzo" style emails and my frequent drug benders no other reason, actually.

So when I'm asked about San Juan, I always recommend the same spot: El Batey, a venerable dive bar frequented by legends like Thompson, the Rolling Stones, and Allen Ginsberg. Old San Juan might not be as louche as it once was, but it's still a pretty cool place to hang out after a long day in the jungle.

And if you're looking for more of a party vibe, well, there's always La Placita :-)
