This fun-to-say country might be best known for its canal, but there's more to Panama than a man and a plan. Let's check out some of those stunning islands!

Like Coiba National Park, for example. This tropical paradise is a bit of a hidden gem among tourists, and well worth the trek from Panama City. Don't believe me? Take one look at the place. Diving or snorkeling is a must here, and you might even spot some (non-aggressive) hammerhead sharks.

A tad closer to town, you'll find the San Blas Islands. This autonomous archipelago is inhabited and operated by the Guna people, and offers a more adventurous and traditional experience. Visitors can book tours to live with the locals, learning about indigenous Panamanian culture and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

So when you tell your friends about Panama, you won't even remember that palindrome :-)
