Oslo in $420s-$590s RT

Look, Oslo is actually a pretty cool town! But if you're pining for those proper Norwegian fjords, you'll want to get out of the city pronto.

The closest fjord to Oslo is, well, the appropriately named Oslofjord. There are a ton of ferries and tour boats that can take you around the inlet, and the views there are pretty dang spectacular.

If you want the full-on, top-shelf, pure fjord experience, though, you'll have to head west of the city. It's a bit of a journey (about eight hours by train to Stavanger or Bergen) but you'll be rewarded with landscapes just begging to be featured on your IG feed.

Pro tip: If you take the train from Oslo up to Myrdal, don't miss a little detour down the fjord on the world's most scenic railway :-)
