You won't find any selfie stick-wielding visitors or overcrowded cable cars on this trail. Think more along the lines of moss-engulfed stepping stones, abandoned Hakka villages and flourishing mangrove wetlands.

It's a true breath of fresh air from the city centre chaos and at only 40 mins drive away, makes for an easy day trip. Here's a guide on how to reach the trailhead by public transport if you prefer.

Before you set off, make sure to bring snacks and Google Maps screenshots, since GPS signals and shops are few and far between.
