The Canary Islands might not be yellow, but they're still pretty bright and golden

There are seven major islands in this chain, and today we're landing at one of the biggest: Fuerteventura!

It's known as "the beach island" and has no problem delivering on that title. Reading up on Fuerteventura almost feels like flipping through a gorgeous beach-themed calendar. Except it'd take about six of them to have enough months for every beach on the island.

If you get tired of sand in your shoes, head to Betancuria. This 600-year-old Spanish town is a lovely place to stroll and admire the architecture as you learn more about the island's history.
