Meanwhile in Bogotá, Simón Bolívar park hosts a long-running (and totally free) music festival. Previous performers have ranged from national faves like Juanes to popular American rock bands like Dead Kennedys and Anthrax.
Cartagena, by contrast, tends to chill out a bit during these months. No worries — the colorful, eye-catching walled city is best explored without crowds :-)
