Floating up among the clouds, or hurtling down a grassy hill? Take ya pick!

Okaaay, I guess we better add some context...

If upwards is your preferred choice of direction, time your visit around the 8th-10th of August. Over this weekend, the skies transform into a tapestry of colour and wicker baskets thanks to the annual hot air balloon fiesta.

And for those free-spirited folk who favoured the hill option, Gloucester is where you need to head.

On the 26th May, a number of highly skilled contestants from around the globe line up at the top of a very steep hill...and then proceed to chase a speedy rolling cheese wheel all the way to the bottom.

It's all very dramatic and definitely worth the 50-min train ride  :-)
