Got 'em! What a time to get your first-ever cheap flight alert to Alaska, then at the start of peak bear watching season.

For both black and brown bears, it's the easiest time to spot these grizzly fluff balls with that ever-shining sun on your side.

And lucky enough, some of their fave hang-outs are just outside Anchorage, Katmai National Park being one of them. Keep an eye out for the river salmon runs, as where there are fish, the bears aren't usually far behind.

Just remember the old bear wisdom: If it's brown, lay down. If it's black, fight back. If it's white, goodnight :-)
