Curitiba in $470s-$570s RT

In a country full of underrated vacation spots, Curitiba might be the most slept-on of them all.

The city itself is deeply charming, with cobblestone streets and friendly capybaras. But the real fun doesn't start until you delve into the rest of the lush Serra do Mar region.

You'll definitely want to start with Vila Velha State Park, about 90 minutes outside Curitiba. The name (Portuguese for "Old Town") comes from the towering sandstone formations that cover the landscape like the ruins of an ancient city.

Finally, if you don't mind a 9-hour drive, make your way out to the impossibly beautiful Iguaçu Falls. Be warned though—it'll ruin Niagara for you.
