Istanbul in £50s rtn from London

Does this count as the cheapest way to travel between continents? Maybe, but it's definitely the most beautiful. 

There are plenty of Bosphorus tours you can join (these do have their place, especially if you want to learn more about the many grand palaces or Ottoman buildings you'll pass), but our favourite way to cross is by public ferry. The journey costs less than £1, and takes around 20 mins. 

You can ride it back to Europe once you've got photographic proof you stepped foot in Asia, but we highly recommend spending more time there once you get off in Kadiköy.

You can take a right and walk along the streets of Moda, one of Istanbul's trendiest neighbourhoods (and home to one of the more local bazaars in the city). Or, walk straight into Kadiköy until you find Çiya Sofrası, a home style mezze restaurant that will knock your socks off.
