ICYMI, between October and February, the sun drops below the horizon in Svalbard, leaving the islands in almost complete darkness 24/7. Cool, eh?
The fact you could see the northern lights at any time is what really makes this season a winner for us. Yep, since it's dark pretty much all day, there's no need for late night drives searching for a glimpse of those dancing lights—this video was taken at midday!
And honestly, those greens and purples look a different kinda beautiful when you're underneath starry skies, high above the Arctic Circle...
